This exciting project began with the demolition of a 1,100-square-foot period-style lake camp and the construction of a stunning new Arts & Crafts-style home, now boasting over 3,800 square feet of thoughtfully designed living space.
One of the primary challenges was meeting local zoning regulations, which required the new structure to maintain the original footprint and exterior form of the previous home. With approval from the local municipality, the design team was able to expand the home while honoring its historic character. As a tribute to the original structure, the front façade was preserved as much as possible.
This homage is most evident in the living room, where a stately river stone fireplace and Craftsman-style wood wainscoting take center stage. The same meticulous attention to detail continues throughout the home, especially in the kitchen and dining room, where rich woodworking and period-inspired wallpaper add warmth and authenticity.
Two years after the home’s completion, the team was commissioned once again to design a complementary pool house in the same Arts & Crafts style, creating a cohesive and timeless lakeside retreat.
